How Hero Mortgage Group collects, uses, shares and protects the personal and financial information of every visitor, applicant and borrower we serve.
Last Updated: May 20, 2026
Hero Mortgage Group, LLC ("Hero Mortgage Group," "we," "us," or "our") is a firefighter-owned mortgage brokerage headquartered in Boca Raton, Florida. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit heromortgagegroup.com (the "Site"), call or text us, submit a form, or apply for a mortgage product or service through us.
This policy applies to consumers and prospective customers in the United States. We are a licensed mortgage broker (NMLS ID #1799965) and act as an intermediary between you and the third-party wholesale lenders that ultimately fund and service loans. As such, our handling of your "nonpublic personal information" is also governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the privacy laws of the states in which we are licensed.
By using the Site or providing information to us, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.
We collect information from you, from your devices, and from third parties.
We do not sell your nonpublic personal information for money. We share it only as needed to provide our services to you or as required or permitted by law.
When you apply for a loan through us, we submit your application and supporting documents to one or more wholesale lenders we are approved with, so they can issue terms, underwrite, approve and fund the loan. Once funded, your loan is owned and serviced by the lender (or its assignee), and that lender's privacy policy will govern further use of your information.
We use vetted third-party service providers acting on our behalf, including credit reporting agencies, identity-verification vendors, our loan-origination system (Arive), our customer relationship management platform (Viato), email and SMS delivery providers, hosting and security providers, analytics and our outside professional advisors (attorneys, accountants, auditors). These providers may only use your information to perform services for us and are contractually obligated to protect it.
With your authorization, we share information necessary to coordinate your transaction with your real estate agent(s), title and escrow company, appraiser, homeowner's-insurance agent, and seller's representatives.
If Hero Mortgage Group has or later acquires affiliated companies, we may share information with them consistent with this policy and applicable law. We will give you a separate notice and any opt-out rights required by GLBA before doing so.
We share information with the Nationwide Multistate Licensing System (NMLS), the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), the Florida Office of Financial Regulation, and other federal or state agencies as required for licensing, examinations, audits, investigations, subpoenas or court orders.
If Hero Mortgage Group is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets or similar transaction, your information may be transferred to the successor entity as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Privacy Policy.
As a licensed mortgage broker, Hero Mortgage Group is a "financial institution" under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and must give you this notice. The full statutory categories of information we collect, share and disclose are described in Sections 2 through 4 above. In summary:
Reasons we share your nonpublic personal information: to process and service your mortgage transactions, to respond to court orders and legal investigations, to report to credit bureaus and regulators, and with the wholesale lender(s) and service providers necessary to originate your loan.
Reasons we do not share for: the sale of your information to non-affiliated third parties for their own marketing. We do not engage in this type of sharing.
To limit our sharing beyond what is necessary to provide our services to you, or to ask questions about this notice, contact us using the information in Section 17.
By submitting an application or expressly authorizing a credit pull, you authorize Hero Mortgage Group and the lenders to whom we submit your application to obtain consumer reports about you from one or more consumer reporting agencies. A credit inquiry may impact your credit score. Submitting a contact form or strategy-call request does not, by itself, pull your credit — credit is only pulled with your separate, affirmative authorization.
If your application is denied wholly or partly because of information in a consumer report, you have rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) to receive an adverse action notice and a free copy of the report from the consumer reporting agency that supplied it.
When you provide your phone number through the Site or to a Hero Mortgage Group representative, you expressly consent that we (and our service providers acting on our behalf) may contact you at that number — including by voice call, prerecorded message, and SMS/MMS text message using an automatic telephone dialing system or other technology — for purposes related to your inquiry, loan application, transaction servicing, account alerts, and customer-service communications. Consent to be contacted is not a condition of any purchase or of receiving credit. Standard message and data rates may apply.
To receive SMS notifications, alerts and occasional informative communications from Hero Mortgage Group beyond what is required to service your application, you must affirmatively opt in by checking the SMS consent box on our forms or texting a designated keyword. SMS marketing opt-in is voluntary and you may opt out at any time.
If you receive marketing email from us, you can unsubscribe at any time by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in the footer of any email or by emailing us at jason@heromortgagegroup.com. Transactional emails relating to an active application or loan file will continue until your file is closed.
Please note that opting out of marketing communications does not stop transactional communications necessary to service an active mortgage application or loan file.
The Site uses cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies to recognize your device, remember your preferences, measure the performance of our content, and help our forms work properly. Some cookies are strictly necessary; others are analytical or used to attribute marketing activity (such as UTM parameters captured from your inbound link).
You can control cookies through your browser settings and most mobile devices. Disabling certain cookies may impair Site functionality (for example, saving your progress in a calculator or remembering form inputs).
The Site and our services are not directed to anyone under the age of eighteen (18). We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
We maintain reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect the confidentiality, integrity and availability of the information we collect. These include encryption in transit (TLS) for the Site and for our loan-origination and CRM platforms, role-based access controls, and vendor due-diligence. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you have reason to believe your information with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately at jason@heromortgagegroup.com.
We retain your information for as long as needed to provide our services, comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (including NMLS and state record-retention requirements, which generally require mortgage broker records to be retained for at least three years after the loan transaction or longer where required), resolve disputes and enforce our agreements. After applicable retention periods expire, we securely delete, destroy or de-identify the information.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, "CCPA"), provides you with additional rights regarding our use of your personal information.
Categories collected: the categories listed in Section 2 above (identifiers, contact information, financial and commercial information, internet/network activity, geolocation, professional/employment information, and inferences drawn from the foregoing).
Purposes: the purposes described in Section 3 above.
Sale / Sharing of Personal Information: Hero Mortgage Group does not sell personal information for monetary consideration and does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are defined under the CCPA. We also do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of minors under 16.
Your rights: subject to verification, you may request to (a) know what personal information we have collected about you, (b) delete personal information we have collected (subject to legal exceptions, including records we are required to retain to service or document a mortgage transaction), (c) correct inaccurate personal information, (d) limit our use of sensitive personal information beyond what is necessary to provide our services, and (e) not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
To exercise your rights, email jason@heromortgagegroup.com with the subject line "California Privacy Request" or call (561) 486-HERO. We will verify your identity before responding. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Residents of certain other states with comprehensive consumer-privacy laws (including, as of the date of this policy, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Montana, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia) may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a portable copy of personal information we hold about them, and to opt out of certain types of profiling or targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, contact us using the same methods listed in Section 13. We will respond within the timeframes required by your state's law.
If you believe a request was wrongly denied, most states give you a right to appeal that decision by replying to our response.
The Site links to third-party websites (for example, our loan-application portal at my1003app.com, Calendly, NMLS Consumer Access, and lender or partner sites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and this policy does not apply to them. Review their privacy policies before submitting information.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised. We will post any changes here, and where required by law we will provide additional notice (such as a homepage notice or email).
